Product Manager


Status : Full Time


Job Description:

Reporting to the Executive team of DTI this position shall be responsible for the validation and assessment of the current and future product development of the UniCom product.  The goal of this contract is to define the market strategy and product direction of the existing product line.  This will entail increasing the profitability of the existing products and developing future product assurance by outlining the roadmap of the future products.

The Position:

This position involves:

  • Participating in all phases of the software development process
  • Ensuring that the developed software meets the market requirements within the defined timeframes

Responsibilities:

  • Define, manage and communicate the product roadmap including creating and executing a detailed product plan defining the evolution of the product for the next release
  • Working with the DTI management team to define and detail the business requirements and/ or business case for the product direction in accordance to DTI’s development process.
  • Technical assessment of the UniCom product which includes on-going technology evaluation within the context of the competitive market
  • Perform a win/loss analysis/assessment to better understand the features that are required for improved sales success
  • Provide input and assistance to the R&D team to ensure priority of enhancements meet market demand and system error resolution is managed appropriately
  • Assist in market research, comparative product evaluations, product market positioning and analysis of trends within the communications industry
  • Provided/Develop content for product marketing and the creation of marketing collateral that will promote the products and support sales efforts across multiple vertical markets.
  • Communication of the product direction to all areas within the organization, and to external stakeholders.

  • Strong marketing skills, including ability to generate sales, participate in calls and meetings with potential customers and decision-makers, and assist with proposal generation
  • Business proposal development skills and strong negotiation skills

Qualifications:

You must have:

  • Post Secondary Education (Business, Marketing, Strategic Management)
  • Previous Product Management experience
  • Proven experience bringing software products to market
  • Understanding of software product planning and development practices

Knowledge of the following is an asset:

  • Knowledge of Telecommunications Industry
